Anne Curtis is the new Dyesebel

MANILA, Philippines – After months of speculation, it’s confirmed: Anne Curtis is the new Dyesebel.

Anne will play the iconic character in an upcoming TV remake, the Kapamilya network announced in a media gathering on Thursday, January 9.

“It’s an honor para makaharap ko kayo bilang Dyesebel,” Anne told members of the press. “It’s another dream come true po, napakalaking project nito. Tinanong n’yo ako noon kung ano ang dream role ko. Ito na, Dyesebel.”

She added, “Gagawin ko naman ang lahat — mag-aral ng swimming, magpa-sexy, lahat gagawin ko para magampanan ko (ang role).”

Joining Anne as her leading men are Sam Milby and Gerald Anderson.

Anne won’t be the first actress to play the iconic Dyesebel for television; Marian Rivera already portrayed the character in a 2008 TV series for GMA-7.

The Kapuso network adapted various Mars Ravelo titles for television, including “Dyesebel,” “Darna,” and “Captain Barbell.”

But last year, ABS-CBN earned the exclusive rights to 13 characters of Ravelo, allowing the Kapamilya network to remake the works of the komiks novelist
