MANILA, Philippines- British Muslim singer Sami Yusuf has released a non-profit single to encourage people to continue helping the victims of Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) in Visayas.
Yusuf, a celebrity partner of World Food Programme, agreed to release the single titled “Hope Survives,†which serves both as his message to the victims and for the Live Feed Philippines campaign.
“This song is my tribute to their courage and a call for global solidarity since we all have the power to do something about it,†he said.
Yusuf also sympathizes to “all those who saw their family, friends, and neighbours taken away by this deluge and found themselves with nothing but mourning in despair within just a few hours.â€
WFP Philippines director Praveen Agrawal hopes that the single will “encourage people to donate and help us help families rebuild their lives and livelihoods.â€
She also adds that their organization will continue to aid the victims with their food needs, especially the children who suffer malnutrition.
Donations can be made through WFP website, www.wfp.org/LiveFeedPhilippines
