MANILA, Philippines – Angeline Quinto is very glad that before the year ends, she was able to get three awards from the 26th Awit Awards.
The Kapamilya singer got awards for Best Inspirational Recording, Best Song Written for Movie/TV/Stage play, and was named I-Gateway kobile Philippines’ Most Downloaded Artist for 2012.
"Sobrang natutuwa ako at napakasaya ko," she said in an interview Wednesday afternoon, December 11.
Since her singing career seems to be in full blast, Angeline would like to focus more on this especially next year.
Focusing on her singing career means setting aside for awhile offers on doing teleseryes or other acting-related projects.
This year, Angeline did a teleserye titled "Kahit Konting Pagtingin" with Paulo Avelino and Sam Milby, and two cameo appearances in the Star Cinema films "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo" and "Four Sisters and a Wedding."
But she plans to dedicate the coming year solely to her singing career.
Meanwhile, Angeline will release her third album January next year, saying it is a special album for her since it includes the first ever song she composed, which according to her is about a guy he likes.
"Medyo may na-ano akong tao sa isip ko sa kantang 'to, e," she said while smiling sweetly.
She hinted that the guy is from showbiz, but when teased to give a hint she said, "Ayoko muna, tsaka na lang. Baka mabuko ako , e!"
