MANILA, Philippines - After the era of The Beatles in the ’70s, a look-a-like band has been formed out of a craze called Bealtlemania. The group started with the four British hopefuls — Neil Harrison, Andre Barreau, David Catlin-Birch and Jack Lee Elgood. Their first gig was on a college shindig in Tiver ton Devon and after several years, they became known as the tribute band for the Beatles and called themselves The Bootleg Beatles.
Over the years, some of the band members had to retire and be replaced by talents who can sustain that Beatles-kind of groove. Forming their present line-up are Hugo Degenhardt, Adam Hastings, Steve White and Andre Barreau, the only original member left.
The Bootleg Beatles continue their touring around the world to relive the hits of John, Paul, George and Ringo. On Jan. 17 at the PICC Plenary Hall, The Bootleg Beatles will bring to life the timeless music favorites like Let It Be; Hey Jude; Come Together; Elinor Rigby; Here Comes the Sun; Here, There, and Everywhere; and Across the Universe. They will also be performing on Jan. 18 at the SMX Convention Center, Davao.
