L.A.-based singer joins The Addams Family

MANILA, Philippines - Los Angeles-based singer Ryan Gallagher joins the cast of Atlantis Productions’ highly anticipated Broadway family musical The Addams Family, which runs from Nov. 15 to Dec. 1 at the Meralco Theatre.

Ryan’s roots began in country music but his wide range of genres has allowed him to expand his repertoire to international music, classics and Broadway songs. He attended the prestigious Columbia Institute of Fine Arts in Washington D.C. under the private direction of internationally-known baritone Dr. George Gibson. Ryan has performed many shows in L.A. and Las Vegas and has sung with several Filipino artists including Lea Salonga and Lani Misalucha.

Ryan will be playing the role of Lucas Beineke, the “normal” boy who falls in love with Wednesday Addams and triggers an unforgettable, laugh-filled evening of events as the two families come together on “one normal night.” He will star opposite K-La Rivera, who has received critical acclaim for her roles in In The Heights, Disney’s Aladdin, and, most recently, Carrie.

Ryan has been in the Philippines many times before and considers it a home away from home. He says, “What I really love about the Philippines is the abundance of community, kind, hospitable and welcoming people, whether they know me or not! It really is a blessing from God to be so far from home, but still feel like I am a part of everyone’s family here.”

He says of joining the star-studded cast of The Addams Family, “I am honored to have been asked to play the role of Lucas, especially with the abundance of talent that the Philippines has to offer. I am thrilled and enthusiastic and can’t wait to begin.”

The Addams Family is a smash hit Broadway musical for the whole family that brings the darkly delirious world of Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Grandma, Wednesday, Pugsley and, of course, Lurch to spooky and spectacular life. The magnificently macabre new musical comedy is created by Jersey Boys authors Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice, Drama Desk-winning composer/lyricist Andrew Lippa.

The Addams Family musical features an original story, and it’s every father’s nightmare. Wednesday, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. A man her parents have never met. And if that weren’t upsetting enough, she confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez must do something he’s never done before — keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

Heading the star-studded cast is Eula Valdes, last seen on the Atlantis stage as Claudia in Nine, and Arnel Ignacio, last seen on stage in The Full Monty. Eula takes on the iconic role of Morticia, made famous in the hit films by Anjelica Huston and Arnel plays her husband, Gomez.

Bobby Garcia, who directs The Addams Family, says, “We are thrilled to have Ryan join the amazing cast that we have assembled for The Addams Family. I think he will fit right in with this crazy bunch. The Addams Family will be a perfect way for families to end the year.”
