Love is definitely in the air between Cristine Reyes and Derek Ramsay who admitted that they are now officially a couple since Aug. 28. The two became good friends after starring together as a married couple in the movie No Other Woman in 2011.

Before their public admission, speculations were rife that they were more than friends because they were frequently spotted hanging out together.

Derek once said that he would no longer date someone from showbiz after his failed romance with Angelica Panganiban. He recently addressed the issue on Twitter when one of his followers pointed out what he said before. “I did say that I’ll never date someone from showbiz and that I’d never date Cristine (because) she is a friend. I eat my words,” he admitted.

Cristine did not escape the barrage of questions from the press during the press conference of her newest Kapamilya teleserye, Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin. When asked about the status of her love life, Cristine answered, “Ganon pa rin, single pa rin ako. I don’t know. Ano ba ang isasagot? Nagsisinungaling lang ako. Pwede bang hindi magsalita? Hindi ko talaga alam kung paano iyan sasagutin sa ngayon. I swear, hindi ko pa talaga alam!”

What qualities did she like about Derek? “Pareho kaming baliw, pareho kaming outgoing. Iyong pagiging family man, iyon ang pinakagusto ko sa kanya.”

Cristine is very open about her love life. She is very happy and you can smell it. She recently posted on her Instagram account her photo with the caption, “Not just your girl, I am your everything” together with the spelled out numbers 8-28-2013 which seems to indicate the date when they became a couple.

The celebrity couple will soon star together in their second movie, Trophy Wife.

Meanwhile, The Buzz asked Rayver Cruz to comment on the relationship of Cristine and Derek during the press conference. Incidentally, he is working with Cristine in Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin. “Basta happy si AA (Cristine’s nickname), happy ako,” was his short reply.

Sam & Jessy, too?

Talking about love, there’s a budding romance between Sam Milby and Jessy Mendiola. Sam recently admitted in The Buzz that he is courting the young actress. “Nililigawan ko si Jessy. She’s aware. I did let her know my intentions, yes. I like her. She’s beautiful. I like her simplicity. Hindi siya maarte.”

The two previously worked together in an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya last year before Sam flew to the US to try his luck in Hollywood.

Many were surprised with Sam’s revelation since they are both being linked to other actors. Sam was previously linked to Shaina Magdayao while Jessy’s name was being linked to Matteo Guidicelli, her leading man in Paraiso.

It’s too early to tell how the courtship will prosper but the issue of their nine-year-age gap is now being raised by some people. Sam said, “I think a lot of times she’s misunderstood, too. Masyado siyang bata pero she’s mature for her age. I can’t say na I know her that well but the times that I’ve hang out with her have been fun.”

Sam was asked how he can help Jessy recover from her failed relationship with JM de Guzman. “The right way to heal your own wound is to heal by yourself,” he answered.

Meanwhile, Jessy confirmed that Sam is indeed courting her through an exclusive statement sent to The Buzz. We quote, “Oo, nanliligaw siya. Single ako at single siya so bakit naman hindi? Pero we go out lang naman. Nothing super serious since alam niya priority ko ang career ko. He’s a very sweet and nice guy so I don’t want to close any doors naman and why not let him get the chance na makilala ako and ganoon din ako sa kanya. Let’s see how it goes na lang.”
