MANILA, Philippines - Jazmine Sabio of Alabama was crowned 2013 Miss Philippines-USA in one of the largest and most prestigious beauty events in the Filipino communities in the US, held last Aug. 18 at the La Mirada Performing Arts Theater in California.
With her in photo are Miss Philippines-USA Tourism Camille Teodoro of Los Angeles and Miss Philippines-USA ambassadress Holly Ann Olalia. Runners-up were Ana Carmina Mariateque and Jessica Lee.
Organized by Filipino-American community leaders Lou Razon, Patrick Aguiluz and lawyer Sandy Roxas, the Miss Philippines-USA 2013 aims to look for an outstanding Fil-Am who can project the inherent charm and beauty of the Filipina to the world.
The event, directed by John Edward de la Vega (one of the country’s most sought-after pageant mentors), was hosted by KTLA news anchor and former GMA 7 talent Cher Calvin and Entertainment News correspondent Tony Cabrera. Among those present were Filipina beauty queens Miriam Chui (Mutya ng Pilipinas 2002) and Anjanette Abayari.
