MANILA, Philippines - Director, writer and acting coach Rahyan Carlos (rightmost, with workshoppers Patrick Garcia and Xian Lim) recently attended an intensive teacher’s training program in the US under Ivana Chubbuck, author of the book The Power of the Actor and personal acting coach of some Academy Award winners and nominees such as Halle Berry, Jim Carrey, Charlize Theron and Brad Pitt.
Direk Rahyan will introduce the technique that helped Hollywood actors win Academy Awards at the Star Magic Workshops (of which he serves as director) in October.
There are three categories: Introductory Class, which lays the foundations in acting; Advanced Class which prepares participants for a higher level of acting with focus on techniques and script analysis; and Master Class, which is about excelling in different genres and mastery of technique.
Aside from the acting workshops, there will also be dance and voice workshops.
