Taste Buddies visits Makati cafés

MANILA, Philippines - The rainy days are here. Moping, lazy-couching and sleeping are just some of the usual activities we do on a cold, gloomy, rainy day.  But today at 5:45 p.m. on GMA News TV’s Taste Buddies, hosts Isabelle Daza and Solenn Heussaff will show us how to have a tasteful time in Makati on a bed-weather day.

Cool weather is equal to food trip, which in turn is equal to weight gain. But do not fear, because the girls discovered Wabi-Sabi, a ramen house which serves all-vegetarian noodles. Steven Silva tried his hand in preparing the Pho and Ramen, and was successfully converted into a Wabi-Sabi fan.

Next stop was the Galli Village Café where Solenn enjoyed a heartwarming plate of Paella Valenciana. After a good meal, The Immo Café by Chief Vapers offered her unusual coffee experience, amidst cigarettes and vapes.

And who says you can’t have ice cream on a rainy day? Isabelle indulged in the healthiest ice cream in town, served at the Ritual shop where she also discovered hard-to-find and locally produced organic products.

But the rainy season is not just about comfort food and resting.  It’s also a time to be alert and ready for emergencies and Louie Domingo, from the Emergency Research Center, shares tips on what to bring and what to do on an emergency.
