MANILA, Philippines - A repeat of the reunion show of Nonoy Zuñiga with the FBC Rebirth (formerly known as the Family Birth Control) happens on July 6 at 8:30 p.m. in the same venue, RJ Bistro, at Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati City.
FBC Rebirth is the longest-running live band with its original members since the ’80s, dominating the night scene with its disco songs. FBC Rebirth is composed by lead vocals Toots Almazan who’s also the leader of the band. Other vocalists are Jiji Sanchez, Teddy Flores and Amor Laurico. The rest of the band members are Jess Balmaceda on keyboards, Sammy Villarin on drums, Danny Trias on guitar, Gee Carlos on bass guitar, Dexter Ansay on saxophone, Nilo Villanueva on trumpet and Edwin Valente on trombone.
Nonoy has just arrived from a concert titled Winter Beginnings in Sydney, Australia and is expected to leave the country after this reunion show for a series of shows in the West Coast. Nonoy is also rushing his OPM album with a carrier single composed by an OFW.
The July 6 show traces the career of Nonoy via his songs — from being a folk/acoustic singer to being the lead vocalist of The Family Birth Control, up to the time he became one of the respected balladeers of the country.
The first 250 ticket-holders who arrive at the newly-renovated RJ Bistro will receive Vaniderm Gugo Aloe Vera shampoo and Lucida Glutathione soaps. Special prizes will be given away to those dressed up in ’80s fashion.
Anna Melissa, an up-and-coming composer-singer and dancer, and her band are the front act.
