MANILA, Philippines - Gantimpala Theater’s annual workshop ended triumphantly with Ang Kinang ni Kahlim, presented at the Theater Auditorium of Sta. Isabel University last May 11.

Ang Kinang ni Kahlim tells the story of primary colors Black, Yellow, White, Red and Blue who were appointed by Angel Michael (Alvin Duckert), the archangel in heaven together with his assistant Miguelito (Aljonas Ponio) to creatively color the world which they call Paradise.

Kahlim (Macson Anthony Macaraig) wasn’t able to fulfill the task because of his low self-confidence and confusion with regard to his task.

Liraw Bughaw (Ayana Beatrice Poblete) encouraged him while the other colors Pao-pao Dilaw (Jayson Carl Santos), Wanda Pula (Andrea Mariana de Leon) and Lotti Puti (Kristel Rose Alcazar) were bullies because they thought that Kahlim’s color connotes darkness and unattractiveness.

The recital production received applause from the audiences with Jun Flavier Pablo, chairman and president of Gantimpala Theater and Sr. Araceli Loredo in attendance.

In his short speech, Pablo said: “I am very much impressed with the good job done. I hope that after your workshop experience with us, you continue to enhance your skills and pursue what they have started, I know that this signals the beginning of your life-long love affair with theater.”

With the workshop and recital finished, Gantimpala Theater continues with another tradition — the 36th Theater Season audition.
