MANILA, Philippines - Three of the hottest music acts in the Philippines today — Parokya ni Edgar (top), Gloc-9 (right) and Mocha Girls (left) — shared one stage last March 15 at Manhattan’s Stage 48 Club and delivered one of the most rousing Filipino concert events in recent years.
They have been packing venues and dazzling crowds across the US as part of their North American concert tour. Their Big Apple stopover was a huge success, described by concertgoers as “sulit na sulit,†that producer Nosaj Entertainment has decided to bring them back in August not just to New York City but to other major cities as well.
The NYC show, which also featured popular Brooklyn rapper Mike Swift (far right), pumped up the audience for over two hours of non-stop rendition of the chart-topping hits of Parokya (led by Chito Miranda), Gloc-9 and the Mocha Girls. — Reported by Funfare’s Big Apple Correspondent EDMUND SILVESTRE
