MANILA, Philippines - Star Magic’s premier balladeer Jed Madela (photo) is adding another feather to his cap as the World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) lauds him with the 2013 Achievement award and inducts him into the Performing Arts Hall of Fame. Each year, esteemed Achievement Award honorees are recognized for their outstanding contributions to the entertainment field and automatically inducted into the exclusive Performing Arts Hall of Fame.
In 2005, Jed was catapulted into stardom when he became the first Filipino ever to win the Grand champion Performer of the World crown in WCOPA, a global event often called the Talent Olympics. He will be joining the ranks of known names in Hollywood like Jaclyn Smith, Liza Minelli, Dionne Warwick and Jennifer Holliday.
Jed will be awarded the Achievement Award and inducted into the elite Performing Arts Hall of Fame on July 19 during the live worldwide webcast of the finals of the 17th annual World Championships of Performing Arts in Hollywood, California.
Currently a contract artist of Star Records, Jed will launch his very first double single album titled All Originals. The two carrier singles, Ikaw Na and Wish, are already most requested songs in the airwaves.
