Kapuso stars celebrate love month

MANILA, Philippines - Last February was not just an ordinary celebration of the season of hearts as leading TV station GMA Network ushered some of its biggest Kapuso stars to add glitter to the various colourful festivals and events across the country.

The festivities jumpstarted on Feb. 7 with the Bacolaodiat Festival in the so-called “City of Smiles.” Leading the Kapuso Fiesta celebration at the North Capitol Road of the Provincial Capital Lagoon were Mark Herras, Kris Bernal, Chynna Ortaleza, Benjamin Alves and Alden Richards.

Each rendered a song or two with the Negrense crowd singing along and jiving to the beat. Meanwhile, joining the vibrant Dazzling Grand Parade and performing for the Kapuso Mall Show the next day, Feb. 8, were Aljur Abrenica and Sam Pinto.

Last Feb. 9, the Pahiram ng Sandali cast — Dingdong Dantes, Max Collins, Kristoffer Martin and Lorna Tolentino – headed to Davao City, the “Crown Jewel of Mindanao” for a promotional tour.

First stop for the cast was a Kapuso Barangayan at the Cabantian Country Homes Covered Court in Barangay Cabantian, Buhangin District followed by another one at the Bago Galera Elementary School Covered Court in Barangay Bago Galera, Talomo District. They then proceeded to Abreeza Mall of Davao for the Kapuso Mall Show.

Dingdong had this to say about their Davaoeño fans: “I am very surprised and thankful that in spite of the heavy rains and floods, so many people still went out of their homes to see us perform not only at the Kapuso Mall Show but in the barangayans as well. I hope they had a great time with us because we definitely had a blast!”

Likewise, Feb. 17 was a date to remember for the Negrenses yet again because of the Kapuso stars’ presence at the Tawo-Tawo Festival in Negros Oriental.

Richard Gutierrez together with Chynna, Katrina Halili and Andrea Torres bannered the float parade that cruised along the major streets of Bayawan City. They were joined by Gabby Eigenmann later in the day for a Kapuso Night held at the Integrated Business Center Hotel grounds where they got the chance to perform special numbers and interact with the crowd.

My Lady Boss lead actor Richard was deeply overwhelmed by the warm reception extended to them by the locals in Bayawan City. “It feels good to be welcomed by thousands of supporters who were all evidently excited to spend some time with us. Nakakataba ng puso ang makita silang masaya sa pagbisita namin and we promise them na siguradong mauulit ang pagpunta ng Kapuso Network sa Bayawan,” he said.

The following weekend, Feb. 22 to 24, the Kapuso Network was north-bound to the “Summer Capital of the Philippines” to take part in the majestic Panagbenga Festival.

Kicking off the Kapuso Flower Festival activities on Feb. 22 was the Kapuso Barangayan with Chynna and the bloodletting held at the Barangay Engineer’s Hill Covered Court.

Following that was the Kapuso Night at SM City Baguio Rambakan Drive on Feb. 23 with Temptation of Wife lead star Dennis Trillo, Indio’s Rhian Ramos and Ehra Madrigal, Sheena Halili, Vaness del Moral, Ryza Cenon and K-Pop sensation Down To Mars. The event was hosted by Chynna and John Feir.

And on Feb. 24, Indio himself, Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., joined in the splendid Panagbenga Grand Float Parade.
