Sayaw Pinoy in Resorts World

MANILA, Philippines - Today at 5:30 p.m., Resorts World Manila and the Halili-Cruz Ballet Company in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts will present another grand performance as the culminating event of Sayaw Pinoy 2013. After a month-long tour of more than 45 performances in the different venues in Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and the National Capital Region, Sayaw Pinoy will close its series of 2013 performances with Sayaw Pinoy at the Resorts World.

This was indeed another fruitful and successful year for Sayaw Pinoy as it reached out to Filipinos in areas very far from Metro Manila. Some of the places visited by Sayaw Pinoy are Lapuyan, Aurora and Pagadian of Zamboanga del Sur;  Mabinay, Tanjay and Bayawan of Negros Oriental; Tangub, Ozamis City and Butuan City of Misamis Occidental; Medina, Gingoog, Carmen, Nasipit, Buenavista, and Cabadbaran of Misamis Occidental; and Tubigon, Maribojoc and Tagbilaran of Bohol.

Sayaw Pinoy carried the torch of the Philippine Arts Festival and of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts to hundreds of dance artists and thousands of audiences all over the country. Sayaw Pinoy is a celebration of collaboration and of hard work, of commitment and of passion, of creativity and of artistic excellence. Under the strong and dynamic leadership of Shirley Halili-Cruz, Sayaw Pinoy has brought together more than 85 established and emerging dance groups in one stage to present the virtuosity of the Filipino dancers in all the dance genres of folkdance, classical ballet, contemporary dance, modern jazz, ballroom and hip-hop.

The partnership between the Resorts World Manila and Halili-Cruz Ballet Company will bring Sayaw Pinoy to The Atrium, New Port Mall, Resorts World Manila today at 5:30 p.m. The partnership will establish the Resorts World as the center of culture, arts and leisure. RW Management recognizes the important role of culture and the arts in human development, thus, the partnership.

Forthcoming events are Women’s event in March, International Dance Festival in April, Ballet concert and Santacruzan in May, music fest in June, International Dance Festival in July, balagtasan fest in August, Highlights of Philippine Fashion in September, Festival on Filipino Traditions in October, National Dance Competition in November and Ballet concert and grand fiesta in December.
