Cardinal Tagle in News.ph

MANILA, Philippines - Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle is seen as a potential candidate for Pope; and his chances as the first Asian Pope are stronger than ever, given that many Vatican observers and journalists have praised him for his views on how the Church should be more of a “listening” and “humble” church.

Tagle’s role is cut out for him; he is seen as someone who is inclusive and who tries to gather the flock around him, not push them away. It’s been a while since the Catholic Church in the Philippines has had someone like Jaime Cardinal Sin. Cardinal ChitoTagle may just be another Cardinal Sin, or even much better.

Cardinal Tagle will be featured in News.ph.

Meanwhile, the international media will be in focus in News Cafe. There will be discussions with BBC’s Rico Hizon on how the international media perceives the Philippines, the media and the delivery of news. Is the local media too sensationalized in delivering the news compared to its international counterparts?

News.ph airs every Wednesday at 10 p.m. while News Cafe airs every Friday 10 p.m. on Solar News Channel (Sky Ch. 16, Global Destiny Ch. 28, Cignal Ch. 10, Cablelink Ch. 12, and on free television SBN Ch. 21).
