MANILA, Philippines - Last year, the annual Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) took P630 million during the official 15-day run.
Will it hit this year’s P700M-gross target?
When it opened on Dec. 25, the 2012 MMFF raked in P108.6M from the eight official entries, the “unofficial†ranking of which follows (including the respective box-office receipts):
Sisterakas — P40.7M
Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote at Si Ako — P31M
One More Try — P13.4M
Shake, Rattle & Roll 14: The Invasion — P10.7M
The Strangers — P4.9M
El Presidente — P4.2M
Sosy Problems — P2.8M
Thy Womb — P911,000
This year’s MMFF runs until Jan. 8, 2013. The ranking is expected to change (only a bit) after the Gabi ng Parangal Awards tonight at the Meralco Theater.
The MMFF was ushered in by the showing of five New Wave films from Dec. 17 to 24.
