MANILA, Philippines - Ogie has hit many notes in his lifetime, but nothing compares to the high that Baby Nate has brought him.
Being a dad to a newborn after so many years keeps Ogie excited and driven. “At my age, it is such a wonderful feeling to have a new baby in the house,†he grins. His fondness for Baby Nate makes him admit that he is a spoiler as a father. With that, he only wants to provide his son with everything he can.
Everyday is a pursuit to give Baby Nate the best and since Christmas is nearing, Ogie makes sure he steps up with his presents.
Beginning with celebration proper, Ogie and his wife, Regine Velasquez de- cided to fly out for the holidays. “We will be in Australia to spend our Christmas with Nate’s half-sisters,†Ogie shares. They believe that being close to the family is worth being far from home.
Ogie also believes that gifts shouldn’t only be a one-time provision. He believes in the longevity of the presents he gives to Baby Nate to help him in the long run.
Religious as he is, Ogie believes that the essential thing he wants to pass on to his son is the faith that he and Regine practice. “The greatest gift I can give my family is a paternal love that will enrich them as they go on with their Christian walks in life. I would want Nate to have a wonderful Christian life, (reared) with the proper values.â€
Another gift that Ogie and Regine pre- pared for Baby Nate is a lifetime invest- ment. “We have acquired a plan for Nate from Sun Life Financial that will ensure his security even in the event that we are gone. It will be beneficial to him because it could supply any of his financial needs in the future,†Ogie says.
