Billy scores triple win

MANILA, Philippines - Billy Crawford feels like a winner three times over with his recent win at the 26th PMPC Star Awards for Television held last Nov. 18 at the Ateneo de Manila University’s Henry Lee Irwin Theater.

Billy was awarded the Best Male TV Host Award (ASAP 2012), Best Talent Search Program Host (Pilipinas Got Talent, Season 3) and Best Reality/Game Show Host. The last citation was a collective win for the hosts of It’s Showtime, which also bagged the Best Reality/Game Show award.

The triple win caught Billy by surprise. “To have been invited to the event was already a privilege, so hearing my name being called the first time was quite a shock,” Billy recalled. “So, imagine the elation I felt when I went up onstage again to pick up my second. It was just too good to be true.”

“Recognition is always the best reward for hard work,” he said. “But I don’t want to take sole credit for all of it. I share the award with the many nameless people working behind the camera who make sure that the shows run smoothly. And of course, the fans who never tire of cheering, watching and keeping in touch with us via social media, they never cease to motivate and inspire us.”

Equally ecstatic was girlfriend Nikki Gil. “Of course, she remains my biggest inspiration,” Billy admitted. “And these recent achievements make for an even sweeter reason to celebrate our fifth anniversary.”
