One of the funniest movies of 1953, and a big hit to boot, was LVN’s Hijo de Familia, topbilled by Nida Blanca, Nestor de Villa, Priscilla Cellona and Carlos Salazar.
Directed by F.H. Constantino, the romance-comedy captured the ups and downs of young lovers having problems with their families.
After Hijo de Familia, the loveteam of Nida and Nestor became LVN’s goldmine.
Priscilla and Carlos starred in other LVN movies, including serious dramas.
Nida and Nestor are gone. Priscilla taught English at University of the East when her showbiz days were over, Carlos (or Rusty) concentrated on singing. — RKC
