Make way for Animax Carnival

MANILA, Philippines - Animé fans are in for a treat as Animax, Asia’s first channel specializing in animé for everyone, is set to bring on Animax Carnival. To be held on Dec. 9 at Robinson’s Place Manila’s Midtown Atrium in Ermita, Malate, the Animax Carnival 2012 will be an event for the entire family.

After great success in Kuala Lumpur and Taipei, Animax Carnival 2012 makes its third stop in Manila. “Animax is the destination for top animé programs in the Philippines and across Asia. We believe Animax Carnival is an extension of the colorful and fun Animax entertainment experience beyond TV. Fun and engaging, the event will offer something for everyone,” said Ricky Ow, EVP and GM for Networks Asia, Sony Pictures Television.

A highlight of Animax Carnival 2012 will be the live finals of Animax’s search for its next Ani-Mate TV presenter. Selected from the dozens of local Ani-Mate hopefuls, seven finalists will take to the runway to win over a panel of five judges including current Animax Ani-Mate TV presenter and regional celebrity cosplayer, Alodia Gosiengfiao. The winner will take home P25,000 cash, be Animax’s representative at events, as well as earn the chance to co-host with Ani-Mate Alodia on Animax.

Another must-see segment is Animax’s exciting cosplay contest that will bring together colorful local cosplayers donning the costumes of their favorite animé, manga or videogame characters and perform in-character to compete for cash and prizes. As a surprise, Ani-Mate Alodia will also reveal her latest cosplay costume at the event, from one of Animax’s hottest shows at currently.

Attendees can also get to experience being an animé voice actor at the Animax Carnival. A special dubbing booth offers Filipino fans the chance to be the voice behind their characters from popular Animax animé programs including Beelzebub, Naruto, Bleach, K-On!, Fairy Tail and Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan.

So head on down to Robinsons Place Manila on Dec. 9, starting 10 a.m., for Animax Carnival. For more details, catch Animax or visit www.animaxasia.com.
