MANILA, Philippines - Eight years after his last album, a wiser, more energized, but unbowed Marco Sison (photo) emerges on the release of his love ballad collection titled Isang Pagkakataon. The eight-track, self-produced, self-released album is distributed by Polyeast Records.
“Isang Pagkakataon means a lot to me because it represents a big piece of my recent life. It’s been a while since I came out with an album and producing felt like the right move. It’s something I wanted to experience, and which I see as a big part of my development as an artist,†Sison explained.
As he gathers himself back in studio, Sison teamed up with Vehnee Saturno in the album’s carrier single Isang Pagkakataon — which is now playing on radio stations. Saturno, who had worked with Sison’s previous albums, wrote the song which is reminiscent of what made his previous hits a noteworthy to OPM — passionate and easy-listening ballads.
Recorded at Saturno Music Studio, Isang Pagkakataon is now available in stores distributed by Polyeast Records, while he will be busy promoting the album and have a series of mall shows.
The all-Tagalog album has been preceded by other newly written songs by Saturno like Selos, Kahit Na Minsan Pa, Sa Iisang Puso Mo and K’wento which also features Sabik Na Puso, a song that was penned by Sison himself.
Sison’s contemporary music of romance and easy-listening sets its own standard for his songwriting, in his production, and of course, in his absolutely strong, silky voice performance. Still going strong after nearly two decades, Sison started his singing career after his triumph of a singing segment of Student Canteen, a noontime variety show.
Being one of the classic balladeers to have captured the true vocal essence of OPM in the ’90s, Sison was responsible for the songs My Love Will See You Through, Si Aida, Si Lorna, O Si Fe, I’ll Face Tomorrow, Always and Make Believe.
Aside from his hit-making albums, Sison also joined popular singers Rico J. Puno, Rey Valera and Nonoy Zuñiga — collectively known as the Hitmakers. Sison and the group had a successful series of shows abroad, most of them in US cities such as Reno, Houston and Las Vegas.
Sison’s new album also comes with two added bonus including minus one of the songs Isang Pagkakataon and Sabik na Puso and now available nationwide distributed by Polyeast Records.
