BREAKING NEWS: Krista Ranillo and husband Niño Jefferson Lim confirm that they are planning to have a third child in two years.

“Next time,” Krista told Funfare in an exclusive phone interview yesterday from Valencia, California, where they have a new house, “we want a girl.”

The couple has two sons, Nate Jacob (one year old last April) and Nolan Jayden (born last July 19) who was baptized in Catholic rites last Saturday, Oct. 20, at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Church in Santa Clarita. Reception was held at Tournament Players Club of Valencia in Stevenson Ranch. Both venues are also in California. The initials of the two boys are the same as those of their father.

According to Krista, Nate is the carbon copy of Niño while Nolan is “very Ranillo.”

Krista is on “extended leave” from showbiz.

“Niño and I are still enjoying our two boys,” added Krista who resorted to yoga to shed excess weight that she gained during her second pregnancy. “Even if we want to, we cannot fly outside of the US because the two boys are too young for that.”

Sizzling takes

Take 1: What’s eating Actor ‘P’?

Sad to know that this actor is showing signs of swell-headedness, which is bad, bad, bad, especially now that his career is on the upswing. During a show abroad, while his fellow stars were gamely posing for photos with OFWs and signing autographs, he was trying desperately to be “inconspicuous,” vainly able to hide his face inside the hood of his jacket.

In another incident, also a promo for the network at a southern city, the actor again showed bad behavior when he and his star companions were already boarding the flight from the Centennial Airport, would you believe that he asked for hard drinks from the flight stewardess. Told that the airline didn’t serve such drinks on domestic flights, the actor demanded that he be allowed to buy some outside.

Irritated by his antic, his co-star tried to pacify him by saying, “Ano ba ‘yan, one hour lang ang flight, a!” The actor told his fellow actor, “Kaya natin ‘to!” On flight, he was the only one who ate, consuming three cups of coffee. The actress (who tried to pacify the misbehaving actor) and her co-star in a morning soap, and the two other actors with them, were so well-mannered that the flight crew loved them.

Tsk, tsk, tsk! What’s happening to Actor “P”? What’s eating him? Is he having problems with his actress-girlfriend (mother of his love child)? Or is he groggy from his new-found success? Or is he possessed by the bad boy character he’s playing in the hit soap?

Somebody should remind that stardom is “not forever” unlike what the title of his soap says (there’s your clue, if you are smart enough!), and that you can be here now and gone tomorrow — if you don’t behave!

Take 2: TV/movie actress gets a new lease in life, love

After that sad news, here’s a feel-good one: I’m happy for this TV/movie actress who has finally (finally!) found the right man whom she’s marrying soon.

You see, she has gone through life’s hard knocks, starting when a close relative “maltreated” her, a traumatic experience that took her years to shake off.

She married a guy from a showbiz clan but the marriage didn’t last long; after they had children. It was agony for her. She felt like she was in a cage, quietly singing to herself as she wept, …ibon mang may layang lumipad, kulungin mo at umiiyak. Well, she has flown the coop, so to speak, and found new happiness not long after.

The man (a basketball player) had also just freed himself from a bad marriage. They realized that they were the right ones for each other. They got together and, with their kids, they’ve been living happily ever after, proving to themselves and their relatives and friends that, yes, love is lovelier the second time around, more comfortable the second time you fall.

When they exchange “I do’s” at their grand church wedding, they will vow to love and to hold, for better or for worse, and truly now, ‘till death do them part.

Take 3: Is TV host displaced by the hunk actor?

I wonder how a TV host feels now that his new home network has tapped a hunk actor to host a show which is right down the TV host’s alley. Doesn’t the TV host feel displaced?

You see, at his old home network, he used to be the only choice for that kind of shows, until a younger and more fit actor came along and unwittingly eased him out. Was that why he felt so bad that he jumped ober da bakod to another network?

The newly-recruited hunk actor is monopolizing the shows that, I’m sure, the displaced TV host secretly believes should be his.

Oh well, win some, lose some!
