MANILA, Philippines - Another fusion of international performers hits the stage of Resorts World Manila’s grand Newport Performing Arts Theater as Taiwanese pop stars Tiger Huang and Hsiao Huang Chi come to the country for a one-night-only concert dubbed as True Voice 2012 tomorrow, Oct. 6.
Known as the “Queen of Pubs,” Tiger’s deep and soulful singing has made her a household name in Taiwan, and allowed her to penetrate the international charts with her More Than Friends album in the early ’90s. An audible delight in Chinese and English, the Best Female Artist awardee also has three English albums to her name with The Rose, Over the Rainbow and All by Myself, and has sold out five major concerts in Taiwan in 2008.
Tiger’s hit song Not That Simple, which won for her a spot in the Best Top 10 KTV Songs in 2010, was penned by fellow Tai-pop idol Hsiao Huang-Chi.
Blind yet absolutely gifted since birth, Hsiao started out his musical career with the acclaimed You Are My Eyes in 2002. He was then selected as a contender for the Best Composer plum in Taiwan’s Golden Melody Awards in the same year, and finally claimed the coveted award from the same body, as Best Tai-pop Male Artist for 2008. Drawing his sincere renderings from his love of music, Hsiao’s consistency as one of the prominent hitmakers in Taiwan remains evident with his five albums and his top karaoke single Last Train.
Catch the pop tandem for True Voice 2012, and let Tiger and Hsiao treat you to a spectacular live performance of their current and old favorites at the state-of-the-art and award-winning Newport Performing Arts Theater.
