Krusada probes crime surge

MANILA, Philippines - Tony Velasquez (photo) will delve into the worsening crime situation in the country and the proposed measures of different groups to curb it on ABS-CBN’s Krusada tonight after Bandila.

“While the country’s crime rate is said to have increased, crimes are becoming increasingly brutal and criminals are becoming younger. Is our country in a state of moral decline? Are innocent citizens still capable of protecting themselves?” asked Tony.

In his third State of the Nation Address (SONA), President Noynoy Aquino bragged that crime was in decline in the country while citing data from 2011 and not 2012, earning allegations he did not use data from the current year so he could put a positive spin on his speech.

To address the alarming crime surge, Tony will present the different security instruments recommended by experts and Citizens Crime Watch and assess their effectivity.
