Zaldy Zshornack is really no Batangueño.
His family is based in Malabon and traces its roots from Bicol. But in Zaldong Batangueño (1963), the actor can pass off as a real son of Batangas. He was barako but gallant and, of course, an expert in wielding a balisong.
He is Zaldo, ‘The Batangueño you’ll never forget — and forgive.’
The movie is action cum comedy, the laughs mostly provided by Dolphy and Panchito. — RKC
