MANILA, Philippines - The decades-old armed conflict between the government and the rebellious group New People’s Army (NPA) has caught innocent indigenous peoples like the Lumad group in the crossfire of the war.
Tonight on ABS-CBN’s Krusada, Karen Davila will check on the Lumad communities in Ba-Oy Dam, Surigao del Sur in Mindanao that have lived through years of terror, fearing for their lives and trying to escape the dangers of warfare.
“The innocent are almost always the victims of any war, not the opposing parties,” said Karen.
Because of this, the Lumads are often forced to leave their homes and livelihood, while children stop schooling. How long will they keep on evacuating?
