MANILA, Philippines - When you enter Little Asia (Tomas Morato, Quezon City branch) these days, you feel like you’re in a new world, thanks to the place’s new look courtesy of Nelson Manabat, a friend of the Lim siblings (Charlemagne, Charlson and Charlene), who did the interior décor.
‘It was Nelson who gave Little Asia new accents,’ said Charlemagne, ‘like the big red chandelier at the ground floor (right), the furniture at the same floor and on the second floor (below, rightmost), the stairs (below, leftmost) leading to the second floor and even the toilet accessories (below, center).’
The red velvet fabric and the leatherette of the chairs and sofas are imported, and so is the rosewood laminate of the tables. A huge Ivan Acuna painting highlights a wall and, according to Charlemagne, ‘we’re hanging more of his paintings soon.’
The new look comes with the introduction of 15 new dishes to the menu which is Little Asia’s way of celebrating its 10th anniversary this month. Currently being also renovated is Little Asia Promenade (Greenhills) branch.
Little Asia delivers (dial 8-7878) and caters (call 0917-8334223). Aside from the Tomas Morato branch (telephone 373-0609) and the Promenade branch (727-5265), it has a third branch in Venice Piazza McKinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio (798-0354).
