It’s the last weekend of my 10-day celebrity and charity bazaar. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all my celebrity friends who selflessly gave their precious time and God-given talents to be part of a charitable cause. You know who you are. Salamat sa inyong lahat! To our sponsors, shoppers, to my hardworking staff, thank you!
Some of the highlights of my bazaar, aside from my valued exhibitors and merchants, are the entertainment, auction and sales of personal items donated by celebrities.
On the first day, Nov. 11, one of the first items I put up for auction was Iza Calzado’s Aranaz bag. It went to a shopper who successfully bid for it in the amount of almost P6,000. Within minutes, that amount was turned over to Jonah Chipeco, representative of World Vision, one of the beneficiaries of my charity bazaar. I thank Iza for donating her bag. Through her selfless act, a World Vision child will be supported for 10 months. For everyone’s info, it takes only P600 a month to send a World Vision child to school. And the best part was, the buyer of Iza’s bag pledged to support a World Vision child longer than 10 months. Ironically, while we were rejoicing with the sales of her bag, I later found out the sad news that Iza’s dad, Lito, passed away that same day. I sent Iza a text, telling her how she and that buyer were able to help a child because of her generosity, and sent my condolences to her. Iza gave (to charity)… Iza lost (a loved one) in one day. The ironies of life.
Showtime hosts Vice Ganda, Kim Atienza and Anne Curtis’ clothes have all been sold. Proceeds have been used to buy clothes for the orphans of Shepherd of the Hills.
I’m excited to put up for auction this weekend the gowns of beauty queens Miriam Quiambao, Lara Quigaman and Venus Raj; Sharon Cuneta’s shoes (Size 9) and Dawn Zulueta’s (size 37-38 ) are lined up for auction; Ryan Agoncillo and Judy Ann Santos’ first His & Hers bike helmets and a lot more! Preview the items in my booth at the Celebrity Lane. Ruffa Gutierrez will sell loads of stuff on Saturday and Sunday.
So come and shop for practical, unique, bargain finds at my bazaar.
Let’s keep the economy afloat by helping these entrepreneurs.
