MANILA, Philippines - The stage is about to be set on fire as two Red Horse Beer Muziklaban rock gods Light of Luna and Hatankaru face each other at the Global Battle of the Bands (GBOB) Philippines 2011.
Every year, local talents of all band genres battle it out to compete in the world’s biggest live talent competition — the Global Battle of the Bands. The champions from the local qualifying heats then the national finals will go head to head with 28 participating countries around the world in the World Finals’ stage.
Hailed from Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija, the rock experimental band Light of Luna was heard by a bigger audience when it won the Red Horse Beer Muziklaban title in 2010. Four-piece band, Hatankaru, rocked the Muziklaban stage the previous year with its unique music style that combines funk, rock and metal elements.
Geared with more experience and kick-ass confidence, the two Red Horse Beer Muziklaban champs are ready to snag the Best Band of the World title.
Sealing the Philippine rock stamp of approval, the 13-year Red Horse Beer Pambansang Muziklaban Rock challenge has produced some of the country’s movers and shakers in the local rock band scene. It has become one of the biggest platforms in producing and showcasing legit rock authority of the new breed of rock icons in the Philippines and the world. This year’s Red Horse Beer Pambansang Muziklaban champion catapults to the 2012 GBOB Philippines.
Joining the two rock champs is Red Horse Beer Muziklaban Ambassador Wilabaliw which entered the GBOB Philippines with hopes of conquering the global stage.
True to its promise of breeding homegrown rock talents, the GBOB Philippine champion will receive P500,000 worth of prizes, including a band development package and a round-trip flight and accommodations to the GBOB World Finals in Europe.
