MANILA, Philippines - Arnold Reyes is back on the small screen via GMA Telebabad’s Daldalita. In the series, Arnold plays Arthur, best friend of Mateo, Ogie Alcasid’s character.
The story revolves around Mateo, Daldalita/Lolita’s father who loses his wife in childbirth. Jillian Ward plays Daldalita. The series is a family-oriented drama that brings inspiration and love to its viewers. The cast also includes Manilyn Reynes, Rufa Mae Quinto, Isabel Oli, Marc Abaya, Julieann San Jose, Elmo Magalona, Spanky Manikan, Joey Paras and Donna Cruz.
“It’s nice to be back on GMA,” says Arnold who started his career on the Kapuso Network with variety shows like GMA Supershow, Eat Bulaga! and Camera Café. He adds, “Masayang-masaya ako for the great opportunity given to me na maka-experience ng isang exciting soap like Daldalita.”
What can he say about his new role? “Wow, ibang level! I play the best friend of Ogie. Idol ko siya bilang isang magaling na komedyante. I’m excited to work with him because he is my idol as a songwriter/producer because I am also a songwriter/producer.” Arnold is a multi-talented artist. Aside from acting, he is also into song writing. His song, Paano Na?, won second prize at the Metro Pop 2000 Song Writing Festival on GMA. His composition, Kung Ako Ba Siya, bagged the Texters’ Choice Award at the Himig Handog Love Song. Interestingly, Arnold wrote Ogie’s song Hanggang Saan, Hanggang Kailan which was an entry to the first Mang Levi Celerio Song Writing Festival. The song was also included in Ogie’s album. Arnold wrote Perry’s Will which was one of the songs in Regine Velasquez’s album.
Arnold is very excited in his new soap. “Kahit marami na akong drama na nagawa ay sobrang nagdarasal pa rin ako na magkaroon ng comedy shows kasi gusto ko ito.” He also says, “The only way to establish oneself is to strive hard to constantly develop one’s craft. Love your work and it will love you back.”
Arnold only has good words about Ogie. “I learn a lot from Ogie. Natural siyang umarte. Napakabait niyang tao at may sense of humor. I’m grateful that I was given the chance to work with him. I look forward to our shooting days kasi ang saya-saya sa set.”
