MANILA, Philippines - Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan led member companies of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC) in distributing 4,000 packs of goods and 500 five-liter jugs in Calumpit, Bulacan and Apalit, Pampanga last Oct. 2. Pangilinan, who also hails from the town of Apalit, personally handed relief packs to his kababayan from Central Luzon’s battered towns, which remain flooded due to back-to-back typhoons that hit the region.
TV5, through TV5 Kapatid Foundation, Philippine National Red Cross and other Pangilinan-led companies such as Maynilad, Manila North Tollways Corp., Meralco (via One Meralco Foundation), and PLDT and SMART (through PLDT-SMART Foundation), joined hands to extend their relief efforts to thousands of isolated residents there.
A few hours after most of Luzon was hit by Typhoon Pedring last week, TV5 Kapatid Foundation, immediately called on Kapatid to help the victims of the typhoon and donate in-cash or in-kind like rice, canned goods, noodles, biscuits, medicines, clothes, blankets, mats and mosquito nets.
TV5 Kapatid Foundation still accepts donations as it continues to conduct relief operations in areas affected by the twin typhoons, including Manila, Rizal, Navotas, Marikina, Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Aurora and Isabela. Relief goods may be dropped off at TV5 main office, 762 Quirino Highway, San Bartolome, Novaliches in Quezon City.
Cash donations can be deposited to the following TV5 Kapatid Foundation, Inc. bank accounts: BDO (account number 005310-410164) and BPI (account number 1443-05333-2). The NEWS5 Aksyon Center hotlines 938-6393/922-5223 are open for inquiries and other concerns.
Meanwhile, Paolo Bediones leads RESCUE5, the emergency responce unit of NEWS5, in actively responding to battered areas with the help of other emergency rescue groups.
