MANILA, Philippines - Ogie Alcasid is about to embark on a musical journey like no other, and he’s taking you along with him.
In celebration of his 40-something years of living, learning and loving and his most fruitful year yet, Ogie takes the stage at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre at Resorts World for a one-of-a-kind musical performance. In order to share this night with every Filipino who listened and sang along to his numerous hits, the GMA Kapuso Network will give everyone a good reason to stay glued nothing less than the best seat in the house.
Ogie will flawlessly deliver the hits we’ve all grown to love through the years: from the first love songs such as Nandito Ako, Mahal Kita and Sa Kanya that he used to serenade the ladies he tried to pursue, to the latest international chart-toppers that are right up his alley.
Joining him in this celebration are no less than his good friends in the industry: OPM hitmakers Noel Cabangon, Dingdong Avanzado and Mitch Valdes in a nostalgic ’70s number that will cater to everyone’s fun-loving spirit. His female friends from Party Pilipinas such as Kyla, Frencheska Farr, La Diva and Jaya will also belt out the best OPM hits with Ogie. And what’s a night with friends without one of his best friends, Janno Gibbs?
Providing the much-awaited hysterics of the night are the international K-Pop sensation (or so they claim): The Wonder Boys! These guys, erstwhile known as Antonio Aquitania, Dos Quizon, Michael V and Ogie himself will perform their international hit (yet another claim) Baby Baby. And as a special birthday treat to Ogie, their lead singer San Ban Yoo (Michael V) will launch his duet with Tang Ha Koo (Ogie) on the same night.
He’s also got two more special guests that will storm the big stage with him: Tween Hearts star Derrick Monasterio and Solenn Heussaff. Derrick will join Ogie in an operatic, classical number while Ogie will attempt to keep his focus as Solenn sizzles onstage alongside him.
But of course, Ogie, being first and foremost a family man, only has eyes for his most special guest of the night: his wife and expectant mother Regine Velasquez-Alcasid. After much clamor, the lovely couple will finally reveal all the details about their little bundle of joy, including the first glimpse of a 4D ultrasound of baby Nathaniel James Alcasid. And of course, Ogie and Regine will do what they do best, and that is to sing one of their famous duets, Hanggang Ngayon.
Where Love Reigns unveils more of Ogie tonight on GMA 7’s SNBO Special.
