Adobo showdown in Junior MasterChef

MANILA, Philippines - Two of the 20 kiddie cooks will exit the culinary competition of ABS-CBN’s Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition tonight at 7.

The six underperformers will have to make their own adobo dish to escape elimination. Catch how they will reinvent and add a twist to the classic Filipino recipe.

Who among the cooks will present scrumptious dishes such as adobong hito with Thai salad, adobong antigo, Spanish style chicken adobo and adobong basil pasta? Whose unique adobo dish will impress host Judy Ann Santos and chef judges Ferns, Lau and Jayps (photo)?

But before the cook-off and elimination, the Top 20 went back to the basics last night in a series of challenges that intended to showcase and improve their cooking skills.

The first challenge aimed to gauge their ability in measuring ingredients.

The Top 10 contenders entered a training-cum-challenge with Chef Lau where they learned to peel and blanche tomatoes. From this round, five would be carried over to the next test where they were tasked to make their own salad dressing.
