MANILA, Philippines - Valii recently launched its latest collection of fashionable timepieces last July 20 at the Peninsula Manila’s Rigodon Ballroom.
The Gummy Scu line, targeted towards the active and fashion-conscious market, features an oversized (47.5 mm), chrome-plated face as well as a set of interchangeable, multi-colored silicon rings and straps.
Valii blends in traditional design elements with modern, cutting-edge technology. The brainchild of renowned jeweler Anita Chan, the brand represents the fruition of her vision of fusing her elegant jewelry designs with the classic and timeless tradition of Italian watchmaking.
That dream turned to reality when Chan met an Italian watchmaker in 2009, and thereafter laid the groundwork for the brand. Asked about the brand name’s origin, the long-time jeweler explained that it’s the Mandarin translation for “elegance.”
For several decades now, the jeweler has already established a firm footing in the Asian market, starting off in Hong Kong and expanding to other East Asian countries like the Philippines.
The Valii launch also marked Chan’s partnership with two longtime friends and business partners: fashion designer Michele Sison and advertising/marketing man Arnold Vegafria.
The evening’s highlights included a mini-fashion show. After the introductory AVP, hosts Tessa Prieto-Valdez and Grace Lee took turns introducing the main personalities — Chan, Sison and Vegafria.
The event also doubled as the power trio’s joint birthday bash, with well-wishers that included friends, colleagues, clients, Manila’s lifestyle press corps, fashion bloggers and showbiz luminaries.
Valii is exclusively available at the Anita Chan boutique at the Powerplant Mall, Rockwell, Makati City.
