The Filipino boy group XLR8 has a very special surprise made for their fans this week. This is a new CD that contains the single It’s Time To XLR8 and the boys are very excited about it. The song is a composition by XLR8 member MJ Magno that is dedicated to his friends in the group. It is a refreshing burst of energy that is truly danceable and which mirrors their excitement over all that has happened to them this past year.
Fans surely remember that the singing and dancing XLR8 was launched with its very first TV appearance in the GMA 7 Sunday variety show Party Pilipinas in March 2010. Members Kiko Ramos, Aki Torio, Carlo Lazerna, Caleb Santos, MJ Magno, MM Magno, Arkin del Rosario Jr. and AJ Muhlach, all young, good-looking and talented, were instant sensations. They made a big hit with their very first single release, She’s So Hot, which became the theme of the younger set during last year’s summer holiday.
In a change of pace, She’s So Hot was later followed by the soulful, romantic ballad I Love You Girl, with which MJ made his songwriting debut. This and the ubiquitous You’re So Hot gave the boys their first Gold Record Award for the sales of their self-titled album last December. Also included in the XLR8 CD are Tonight’s The Night, I Wish Lang, Dance With Me, I’ll Be There, She Was Mine, Anyway, Ms. Beautiful, Precious Love Money Money and For You.
The It’s Time To XLR8 single also includes the music videos of You’re So Hot and I Love You Girl plus interviews and the add-on fans are very happy about, the picture gallery. The release of the single coincides with the concert P-Pop Explosion where XLR8 will make its first appearance as concert artists in their very own show. The group will perform its hits, current favorites and do other things that will showcase the boys as individual talents.
The XLR8 boys are now working on the special MyPhone XLR8 edition that will contain all new original tracks. These songs will be embedded in the phones and will not be heard or be available anywhere else. At the same time they are also preparing the songs for their second CD. Encouraged by MJ’s songwriting success, the boys are also working on their own compositions, which they hope will be included in the upcoming album.
