Citibank brings the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber

MANILA, Philippines - All the classic Broadway hits loved by many will be immortalized in a rare theatrical event as Citibank brings to Manila The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, a celebration of the greatest musical hits of the master composer happening at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo at the Cultural Center of the Philippines starting June 24.

“Last year, Citibank was proud to bring to the local shores as the main presenter of the award-winning Cats musical, and that partnership was a huge success. We are confident that the concert will once again be embraced by our clients and so we have arranged for them to be among the first to choose the best seats to the musical spectacle, and enjoy exclusive discounted prices,” related Sergio Zanatti, Consumer Markets head for Citibank Philippines.

Citibank cardholders will be entitled to 10 percent discount on tickets to The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber when they pay with their Citibank Credit Cards. Banking clients may also avail of the discount when paying with their Citibank or Citibank Savings ATM Cards. This exclusive offer is good until March 25.

The new theatrical event will feature an internationally acclaimed cast that will bring together all the greatest Broadway hits from Webber.

The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber will have critically-acclaimed songs from such Broadway hits as Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Starlight Express, Sunset Boulevard, The Likes of Us, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Tell Me On A Sunday, among many others.

Some of these hits gave Webber citations that include seven Tony Awards, three Grammys including Best Contemporary Classical Composition for Requiem, seven Laurence Olivier Awards, a Golden Globe, an Oscar statuette, two International Emmys, the Praemium Imperiale, the Richard Rodgers Award for Excellence in Musical Theatre and The Kennedy Center Honor.

“More than global products and services, Citi is also committed to providing our clients the world’s best, and that includes high-quality productions such as this musical. Our goal is for every purchase made using Citibank credit cards or ATM cards to be a rewarding experience,” added Zanatti.

Cats, Starlight Express and Jesus Christ Superstar, have been cited as among the longest-running musicals in British theater history. Webber is also the first composer to have a trio of musicals running in London and New York.

His latest musical Love Never Dies, which continues the story of the Phantom and Christine, received its world premiere at London’s Adelphi Theatre in March 2010 and will open this year in Melbourne and Tokyo.
