Opera Belles releases debut album

MANILA, Philippines –  Three classically-trained young singers have joined forces and voices to form the countryís first young female pop opera group. Opera Belles combines contemporary pop with the artistry of opera in their self-titled debut album under Sony Music.

The group will launch its self-titled debut album on Friday, March 4, 7 p.m. at Eastwood Open Park and on March 11 (also a Friday), 8 p.m. at Venice Piazza, McKinley Hill.

Opera Belles is composed of Allison Tanner, Lara Maigue and JamValdes. They were formed by the Philippine Opera Company and each member underwent auditions and rigid training. In 2010, they were signed to Sony Music.

Allison started singing at eight and trained at the University of the Philippines Extension Program where she was introduced to opera and classical music.

Jam took voice lessons at age seven and honed her musical talent by joining glee clubs in high school. She joined Repertory Philippinesí summer workshops.

Lara studies Music Education at the University of the Philippines. Her parents are musicians/music professors.
