MANILA, Philippines - High energy is the trademark of Fra Lippo Lippi’s lead singer and songwriter Per Sorensen. From the very minute he enters the stage, you will feel electrified even when he is performing his soulful ballads like Later and Beauty & Madness. All his Valentine shows this 2011 in Ormoc, Tacloban, Cebu and Manila were all sellouts. In fact, a few hundred extra seats had to be added to the NBC Tent at The Fort on the concert date just to accommodate the heavy demand for tickets.
2500 kilometers away, John Ford Coley, the crown prince of love songs, was smiling from ear to ear because the huge audience turnout at the 8,000-seater Arena of Stars in Genting, Malaysia despite the heavy rains was singing along to each and every song he was performing. In fact the song Just Tell Me You Love Me which we thought was only popular in the Philippines was also a hit to Malaysians. Coley’s latest CD Timeless Love Songs locally distributed by MCA Universal sold out in a matter of 10 minutes at the concert venue.
Tonight, both artists who’ve never met or crossed paths will be sharing one stage for the first time in history to serenade their fans at the University of Baguio Gym. The show promises an overload of hits and love songs. Fra Lippo Lippi will be performing Later, Beauty & Madness, Angel, Light & Shade, Stitches & Burns, Every Time I See You and Some People; While John Ford Coley will do I’d Really Love To See You Tonight, Sad To Belong, Just Tell Me You Love Me, Love Is The Answer, We’ll Never Have To Say Goodbye and Longer.
The post-Valentine concert produced by Waltrix and Gatepass Productions (the leading concert promoters in Baguio) will definitely be a music treat for music lovers in the northern part of the Philippines covering Baguio, La Union, Ilocos Norte and Sur, Pangasinan and the Cagayan Valley.
The concert is presented by the City of Baguio and Baguio Country Club.
