MANILA, Philippines - Unlike any other season of Survivor, the new edition features a new twist as for the first time castaways who have been eliminated will get the opportunity to seek redemption. Getting voted off at tribal council is no longer the end of the game as instead of going home contestants are sent to an area known as Redemption Island. There, they will have to live like they would as part of the tribe with limited food, water and shelter. When the next opponent is voted off the two will face off to decide who will stay in the game on the island and who will be sent home for good. After a number of weeks one contestant will return to the game and face those who voted him off.
Hosted by Jeff Probst, the 22nd battle for the title of Sole Survivor unfolds on an island in Nicaragua, where 18 castaways will be divided into two Tribes of nine: The Ometepe Tribe and the Zapatera Tribe. Comprised of individuals from a range of colorful backgrounds, only 16 of the contestants are new to the competition, as two are former castaways who will be given another chance to compete for the million dollar prize. Survivor: Redemption Island will be a game of outwitting, outplaying and outlasting like no other.
Survivor: Redemption Island airs Thursday nights at 10 on Jack TV.
