The Christmas Card from the Iglesias

MANILA, Philippines - As usual, it’s the Christmas Card from Julio Iglesias and his wife Miranda that arrives late (that is, a few days after The Feast of Three Kings which caps the holiday season in the Philippines, touted to be the longest celebration in the world), no thanks to the clogged mails during the season. As I’ve been saying, the Iglesias have been sending me and a few other Filipino journalists (Sounds Familiar columnist Baby Gil included) Christmas Cards for several years now without fail, enabling us to monitor the growth of the Iglesias children now numbering five, namely Michael, Rodrigo, Cristina, Victoria and Guillermo. But the pictures of Julio and Miranda never appear in the cards. At the back of this year’s card is this greetings: Happy holidays — all our love; Felices fiestas — todo nuestro cariño. Signed: Julio and Miranda…and the names of the children.
