It drizzled as soon as Sarangani Rep. Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and his wife Jinkee arrived, almost an hour late because of another appointment, at the victory party hosted by Ilocos Sur Gov. Luis “Chavit” Singson at his mansion in Corinthian Garden, Quezon City, Monday night, but only a few left their tables spread out at the sprawling garden enlivened by continuous music from “live” performers.
Invited guests — including ambassadors, diplomats, businessmen, showbiz stars and, surprisingly, only a few politicians — happily partook of the mouth-watering, tummy-feeling food, glorious food prepared by a dozen chefs who laid out Pacman’s favorite Japanese goodies and roasted calf.
Everybody can’t seem to have enough of who is now known as “the 8th Wonder of the World,” following Pacman’s eighth win (against Antonio Margarito) in eight different divisions. It turned out to be Fans Night as everybody scrambled for position to have their picture taken with Pacman. Everybody loves a winner.
Meanwhile, tonight at 7 o’clock the Professional Managers Association, Inc. (PAMI) and its artists are hosting a Mass for the industry at Christ The King Mission Seminary (at #1101 E. Rodriguez Sr. Ave., Q.C.), with Fr. Glenn Gomez officiating. The group should include a thank-you prayer for Pacman and good graces for his ninth bout, if ever.
