MANILA, Philippines - The second Boy Abunda Badminton Cup (BABC) was successfully held at the Kalayaan Badminton Center. The exciting tournament which was participated in by 32 players coincided with the birthday celebration of Boy Abunda who is a badminton enthusiast.
The event began with the singing of the National Anthem followed by an opening prayer and the ceremonial serve done by Boy Abunda, Kennevic and Kennie Asuncion.
The tournament was held for the benefit of Boy’s scholars who are honor students of Krus na Ligas High School, Payatas High School, Batasan Hills High School, Jose P. Laurel High School and Balara High School. The students are vying for Valedictorian and Salutatorian in their schools.
The 10 lucky scholars are Jolina Villalobos and Dexter Peña Mora (Balara High School); Mark Lester Sinlao and Raf Sophia Centeno (Jose P. Laurel High School); Hector Timola and John Ferdinand Calimag (Payatas High School); Marjorie Iñigo and Thesally Dalisay (Krus na Ligas High School); and Marvic Denosta and Ezra Osorio (Batasan Hills High School).
Each of the scholars received P10,000 and grocery items handed by Boy Abunda himself and Charlene Gonzales who was the special guest in the awarding ceremonies.
The 2nd BABC was presented by La Carmela de Boracay and Café La Carmela.
