MANILA, Philippines - With the recession still being felt worldwide and foreign and local recording companies tightening their belts, bands, singers and musicians are now looking for other avenues to showcase their talents and make it in the music scene.
With the advent of digital recording and distribution, it has now been much easier for local musicians and musical acts/artists to offer their kind of music on a global scale.
Fresh from its performance at the Riverbanks Activity Center in Marikina, the acoustic trio Kithara (photo) is proud to announce the release of its first single via the digital media player application iTunes. The digital single also serves as a surprise present of sorts for those people who have shown their support for Kithara during bar tours and mall performances. Available primarily on iTunes, it is available as well on other paid download music sites worldwide like MySpace Music, Napster, Nokia, MP3, eMusic and more.
An acoustic track with an R&B flavor, To Move On, Kithara’s first single is a heart wrenching song about letting go and moving forward despite the turmoil and pain brought by love.
The original song To Move On has been on the playlist and enjoying airplay in international radio stations like Magic 100FM Saipan USA, 101.7 World FM Edmonton Canada and 106.7 Community Radio, Hamilton City in New Zealand.
Kithara has performed live locally for radio stations like Magic 89.9 and Mellow 94.7. The song has already been auditioned in the various radio stations in the Philippines as well for local airplay.
