MANILA, Philippines - Prepare those taste buds and camera lenses for a feast of the senses as mouthwatering dishes are made much more delectable and eye-savory. National Bookstore with co-presentors Lifestyle network and Food magazine bring internationally renowned American food stylist and culinary educator Delores Custer to the country next month to conduct a food styling seminar on Sept. 18 at the Oceana, Mall of Asia.
Custer, whose works have been appearing in all kinds of media worldwide for 30 years now will come to town to teach aspiring Filipino food decorators basics in food styling, recipe writing and food photography where one will learn how to look at food from its best angle.
From the curve of an apple stem to the fan of a shrimp tail, Delores believes it’s a food stylist’s job to make every detail of a dish appetizing not only for the human eyes but also through the lenses of any camera. “A food stylist’s job is to get food ready to have its picture taken,” says award-winning food stylist Custer.
Enrolment fee is P7,500 with a book and lunch. Early bird rate is P6,000 (until Aug. 31). Besides the seminar, Delores will also appear in TV guestings on ABS-CBN and its cable channels.
