MANILA, Philippines - He is considered among the country’s most exceptional artists because of his ability to write songs that are as intelligent as they are socially-relevant.
Gloc -9’s (photo) rare talent as shown in Upuan and Lando, among others, is that which earned him a devoted following both from in and out of the music business. Among the many industry veterans who have afforded him respect include the late great “master rapper” Francis Magalona, who once called him a “true Filipino Poet.”
Gloc-9 has also turned the heads of some of the most important people in the land including newly-elected President Noynoy Aquino who deemed his work as “makabuluhang tugtugin.”
Crossing the rock spectrum, Gloc -9 also earned the respect of bands like Parokya ni Edgar and 6Cyclemind. Aiming to push further his talents and abilities, Gloc -9 signed up with Soupstar Entertainment, Inc.
Gloc-9 believes his career is in good hands since Soupstar is a production and management group behind the careers of Callalily, 6Cyclemind, Imago, Sandwich, Paraluman, Pedicab, Protein S, Duster, AurorA and Markus Highway.
Gloc-9 has already received via his song Upuan such awards as Song of the Year in the recent Tambayan Awards.
He has recorded four albums G9 (2003), Ako Si…(2005), Diploma (2007) and Matrikula (2009) each selling better than the last.
