MANILA, Philippines - At the star-studded, jampacked premiere of Star Cinema‘s Cinco at the Megamall Cinema 10 last night July 13, (the production reportedly cost over P30-M), Malou Santos, head of Star Cinema said, “I’m happy...very very happy that Star Cinema is setting a new trend in horror flicks.” She disclosed further plans for Cinco to run as a regular movie.
She added,” We plan to produce more Cinco, but not solely as a horror film. There will be other genres like five love stories, etc.”
In an interview after the premiere, Jodi Santamaria, who starred in the second story called Paa directed by Enrico Santos, beamed: “Sobrang pinaghirapan namin ang pelikulang to“ and it was worth all the hard work.”
Mariel Rodriguez, star of Mukha, adds, “ I’m so overwhelmed with the turnout tonight, salamat sa lahat ng dumating at sumuporta sa pelikula namin.”
Direk Enrico said, “I remember sitting in front of the screen and hearing the people scream and loving the scenes, I said to myself I did not direct this... someone else helped me do it...it’s the Person we look up to the sky, and I am thankful.”
For Braso, the first story, Sam Concepcion, asked what the hardest scene was, replied, “To me it was having that arm on my face for so long.” AJ Perez states, “Obviously, the hardest was that hand being there!” (referring to the scene where the hand grabbed his crotch).
The leads were heavily supported by theater heavy weights like stage veterans Chamaine Buencamino, Malou de Guzman, CCP’s Nanding Josef and Equus lead star Marco Mañalac.
