Pilipinas Ngayon tonight on ABS-CBN

Ang Pilipinas Ngayon, a factual assessment of the country’s progress, aired its first episode yesterday with special focus on the achievements made in infrastructure and transportation that allowed for better connectivity both in telecommunication and the nation’s infrastructure system.

Ang Pilipinas Ngayon is hosted by 2005 Miss International Precious Lara Quigaman and Caritas Executive Director Fr. Anton Pascual.  It started airing over during the commercial gaps of Umagang Kay Ganda, Showtime, TV Patrol on ABS CBN, on ANC, The Filipino Channel and on radio DZMM.

The advocacy program is made possible by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Petron, San Miguel Corp., United Coconut Planters Bank, North Luzon Expressway, Maharlika Shipping, Philtranco, Pacific Pearl Airways, Stradcom, and Strategic Alliance Holdings, Inc.

For its first episode, Ang Pilipinas Ngayon gave emphasis on how government’s efforts in infrastructure development have spurred the economy and improved the economic activity of our people.

It also underscored the significant benefits that even ordinary folks enjoy as a result of the construction of new road networks and the upgrading and modernization of transportation facilities that reduced travel time and opened up transportation alternatives for many.

Foremost among this advancements were the convenience and economic viability given the common Filipino people who can now travel over the country by land and sea without changing rides through the Strong Republic Nautical Highway’s roll on-roll off projects.

The program resumes tonight with education and health and housing as its main focus.
