Jamie Foxx mentors movie songs week

MANILA, Philippines - This week on Q-11’s American Idol, Top 4 Crystal Bowersox, Lee DeWyze, Michael Lynche and Casey James take on songs from the cinema under the guidance of actor-singer Jamie Foxx.

The four are survivors of Frank Sinatra week, which marked the elimination of Aaron Kelly from the competition. The 17-year-old from Sonestown, Pennsylvania, the youngest finalist this season sang Fly Me to the Moon last week. While he didn’t get the harshest words from the judges, Aaron was the lowest vote-getter of the week.

Michael joined Kelly in the bottom two which took his fans by surprise. The 26-year-old from Astoria, New York, who crooned The Way You Look Tonight, got a lot of love from the judges last week. The opposite of what happened to Casey. The blonde blues guitarist’s version of Blue Skies was panned by all four judges.

Lee, on the other hand, received acclaim for his version of That’s Life while perceived frontrunner Crystal, in another of the past week’s surprises — got only lukewarm responses from judges Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi, Randy Jackson and Ellen DeGeneres. The recent turn of events proved that anything can happen and anyone can still emerge as winner.
