MANILA, Philippines - TV5 concludes its series of Pagbabago 2010 presidential fora by acquainting the voting public with the presidential candidates’ heart and personal character in Pagbabago 2010: Puso sa Puso — Ang Huling Kilatis sa mga Tumatakbong Pangulo. It is a nationwide prayer gathering and presidential forum to be held in Araneta Coliseum that will be aried tonight at 10 on TV5.
Organized by VoteNET Philippines, a coalition of non-partisan evangelical organizations, in cooperation with NEWS 5, the event titled Puso sa Puso: An Evening of Prayer for H.O.P.E. (Honest, Orderly and Peaceful Elections) is the last in the series of Pagbabago 2010 which aims to get all presidential candidates to disclose their stands on essentially moral issues that will be presented by the evangelical community on an evening of national prayer.
Unlike all other presidential fora, this will not serve as a venue for debate among the candidates about their platforms, track record, and issues. It will instead be an opportunity for the forum audience and TV viewers at home to evaluate the motives and strength of character of the presidential candidates as they are asked three morally based questions and given 20 minutes to shed light on their convictions. This will give a foretaste of how they may behave in the seat of power and how they will respond during times of crises as president of the country.
Candidates who confirmed their attendance to the prayer gathering and forum so far are Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, Councilor JC de los Reyes, Sen. Richard Gordon, Nick Perlas, Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro, Bro. Eddie Villanueva, and Sen. Manny Villar, making Pagbabago 2010: Puso sa Puso a rare opportunity for the public to hear these presidentiables open up their hearts to share their beliefs and thoughts in an event of peaceful unity and prayer.
The forum, which will be hosted by Dan Cura and Maloi Salumbidez, will be attended by the general public and representatives from the media, business, diplomatic and several religious sectors and members of the VoteNET coalition to encourage the public to be in constant prayer in preparation for the fast nearing first ever automated elections in the country.
